105* IN THE SHADE

Southwest Florida can get very hot in the summertime. It is more than the ambient temperature that affects how your HVAC system works. It often over 105* next to your equipment, and this can affect how cool you can make your home. Expecting 72* inside when its that hot outside can be unrealistic. A correctly designed system was designed for climate averages, not for the extremes. Ask our design team how you can fight the 105 degree days in your home.

“20 Degree Split” - The use of the “temperature split” or more correctly called the Delta T is one piece of a very big puzzle when it comes to diagnosing the condition of an HVAC system. Realtors and Home Inspectors often describe a problem because your “temp Split” isn’t 20*. In Fact, the temperature split or Delta T will range from 8* to over 30* depending on a lot on a lot variables including the humidity and the temperature outside. That rule of thumb is a bad rule of thumb.

North American Technician Excellence credentials help establish the individual technician’s abilities to a consumer. Stay nice and cool this summer and avoid overworking your equipment. It is better to leave your thermostat set at one temperature than to move it up and down. Keep the outside unit clear of objects and let it breather. It’s ok to wash off the outside unit while the machine is not running. It’s a radiator – keep it breather clear. Change your filter every month and always use a MERV rated pleated filter for best results.
